Some Kalvary Goodness

June 29, 2008

Kalvary is full of funny inanities.  Here was the best one today.  “Mommy, I’m making a Chicken out of Manatee, and I’m going to call it FREE chicken for FIVE Dollars.”   No Idea where that came from.  Also a post a few weeks ago told about her Ballet.  Well today, she danced in the kitchen to some music, and when she doesn’t have her little friends at ballet to distract her, she’s not bad.

Malachi 2 months old

June 25, 2008

The first three pictures are of Malachi who is now 12 pounds and 13 ounces.  He also smiles quite easily and likes to stand up if we hold onto his hands.

The fourth picture is Glory at 2 months.  She was a little over 11 pounds at that age.

The fifth picture is Kalvary at 2 months.  She was a little over 15 pounds at that age.

Kalvary is 4

June 22, 2008

We had a party on her actual birthday (June 20) and invited family and friends.  Kalvary loves princesses right now, hence the tiaras.  My mom was here all week and made the pinata.  Isn’t it impressive?!  Kalvary had a great birthday.  She’s so excited to be four.

Ballet

June 17, 2008

Kalvary has been taking ballet lessons once a week since September.  This past Saturday was her recital.

This first outfit was for a worship song that her class danced to called “This Love.”

The rest of these are of her mouse costume for “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.”

She loves ballet, but isn’t very good.  She’d much rather goof around with her friends than pay attention to her teacher.  :)

This first picture is of Malachi in an outfit that used to be Ryan’s.

Happy Times with Malachi

June 7, 2008

Malachi will smile, but you have to clap his hands together.  We kinda got him to give us a smile when we laid him down in the grass as well.  You be the judge.  He liked the grass, he was crying before I put him there.

Tales of Glory

June 4, 2008

Ryan Here.  I thought I would pass along some wisdom about having three kids, since I am now the expert, having done this for a month.  People told us that going to three kids was like going from man to man defence to zone defence.  Actually, it is more like going to a box and one defense, except your team doesn’t have enough players.  So while Kris is guarding Malachi, I’m getting double teamed underneath by the two power forwards, Kalvary and Glory.

A little information about Glory.  She will eat anything, still.  This includes dirt, rocks, sand, plants, whatever.  Her favorite foods (when she feels like eating actual food, which should never be taken as a given) are meat, chocolate and coffee.  Everything else just gets smeared all over her body.  Here are some pictures of Glory, being herself.  The first one is of her sitting in our trash recycling bin.  The second is her lying in the muddy Gutter.  Yep…  That’s Glory.

How do we handle having three kids?

June 2, 2008

We’ve been amazed by all the incredulous looks that we get with our three kids.  We just don’t think that three is that many, I guess.

So…how do we do it?

Well, we learn to make do and make room for as many as we have.  With one, we felt busy and wondered if we could handle two.  With two we really wondered how we would manage with three.  Now we have three and we’re making it work.  We have to give up a lot of our preconceived ideas about what we will and won’t feed our kids, about how we’ll handle discipline, about how clean the house has to be, about how nicely our kids are dressed, etc.  I (Kris) think I’m learning how to seize the moment and do whatever I can whenever I can.  That’s been tough for me.  I like to focus on one thing at a time.  I can’t do that with three kids.  I like to not start a project unless I know I can finish it during that same time frame.  I definitely can’t do that now.  This is all good, though.  I’m much more understanding and well rounded than I used to be.

What I’m trying to say is that God gives us the grace for whatever our circumstance (if we let him, that is).
